-
You are NOT LIMITED by Colorado state lines! You are more then welcome to take our vehicles anywhere in the US and Canada. However, you are NOT allowed to take our vehicles down to Mexico.
-
Vehicle rentals include unlimited (within reason) miles per day. It would not be within reason to drive to California and back in 3 days. However, we’d love for you to take a trip to the West Coast and would suggest at least a week for a trip like this.
-
Overland 4x4 Campers - Our overland fleet is fantastic off-road. We have modified them to be able to take you further off of the beaten path with comfort and ease. You are allowed to take these vehicles on designated 4-wheel-drive roads but cannot rock crawl in them. Our vehicles are not outfitted with recovery gear and you are responsible for any and all damages caused on the trail. This includes scratches to the skid plates and rock sliders. These modifications are there for protection, not for rock crawling use. There are several advanced 4x4 trails that are off limits such as Black Bear Pass, Schofield Pass and Pearl Pass. Give us a call if you have questions on what trails are allowed.
Campervans - Dirt roads are ok and encouraged but campervans must remain on maintained county roads. You may not “off-road” in our vans. Any road marked by “4WD” or “high clearance” are off limits. The vans are two wheel drive with low clearance and no armor.
-
We have a 3-day/2-night minimum. You are more than welcome to do shorter trips but you will still be charged the minimum trip length.
-
Yes, we start to discount trips that are six days or longer. The longer you go the more you save, see graphic below!
Payments & Financial
-
25% of your adventure total is due when you book. The remaining 75% is charged 7 days prior to your trip start date along with the security deposit. For more information about the security deposit, please see the question below.
-
The security deposit is a $1,000 authorization to your credit card on file. The charge will appear as “pending” on your statement and will go away when you return the vehicle in the condition it left the shop in. If there are damages/missing items when you return from your trip, these will be taken out of the security deposit.
-
We understand things come up and we try to be pretty flexible where we can. If you have to cancel, we will try to work with you to reschedule your trip during a time that works better for you. When rescheduling, you will receive a 100% credit towards your future trip. If rescheduling isn’t an option for you, please see below for our cancelation policy.
Your reservation deposit (25% of full trip cost) is non-refundable.
If the booking is canceled more than 7 days prior to booking start date, we can roll your deposit into a credit towards a future trip.
If canceled less than 7 days prior to booking start date, a partial refund of 50% of the total rental amount (minus processing fees) is issued.
-
Yes, that is an add-on that can be purchased in the check-out process for 6.5% of the rental amount
-
We charge by the day and that starts at 9am and you have until 4pm on the day you return. There is no discount for picking up later in the day or coming back early.
-
Nope! Everything except insurance, taxes and CO State Fees is included in the daily rate.
Damages, Missing Items & Help on the Road
-
You can purchase roadside assistance with your rental. If you are a AAA member, you may use AAA for help. Once the vehicle is off of the road and you are in a safe place, please immediately call the shop for further assistance.
-
This is where the security deposit comes into play. We’ll charge you to replace or fix the item, directly out of your security deposit.
-
First, call the police. We will need a police report for the insurance company. Once you and the vehicle are in a safe place, please call the shop. Our insurance deductible is $1,000. Depending on the fault of the accident, the deductible may come out of your security deposit if you were at fault for the accident.
-
First, we’d like to encourage you to avoid traveling on roads and in areas where you might get the vehicle stuck. If you are traveling on a road where you think you might get stuck, you shouldn’t travel any further and should turn around. If you do get stuck and require a tow, backcountry towing companies are extremely expensive and can be $1000s. We know of a few volunteer-run recovery organizations so give us a call first. If you get stuck, you’ll have to walk to an area with cell phone reception to call the local land manager or sheriff to dispatch a tow.
Other Rules of the Road
-
Here at TAC, we love our four legged friends. You are more than welcome to bring your dog(s) with you. However, we do not like cleaning up after your furry friends. We have an “invisible pet policy” where as long as we can’t tell there was an animal in the vehicle or tents, you won’t be charged. You are solely responsible for getting all of their fur/hair/muddy paw prints out before returning the vehicle. If you do not clean up after your pets and we see signs of them in the vehicles, we charge a $200 cleaning fee that comes out of your security deposit.
-
No. There is a $300 fee if we have to take the vehicle to a specialty detailer to remove smoke smell.
-
No, at this time we do not allow our vehicles to tow anything.
