My favorite type of travel adventure is a remote trip where you’re going from point A to point B. I’ve done a few of these. One of my more interesting ones was in Alaska. We took a bush plane and landed us on a riverbed north of the Arctic Circle. We had little foldable canoes and they unpacked all our stuff and said, “we’ll see you in five days!” We were going to float down this river and meet them at another grounding strip. I like the sense of everywhere that we’re going to is unique and new. It makes you self-reliant.
