WE TOOK THE GUIDED PACKAGE FOR OUR FIRST OVERLAND EXPERIENCE.

It was so much more than I expected! Not only did the team at Titus plan everything and provide great vehicles, but they also set up, cooked, and cleaned at every camp site. The food and cocktails were amazing!”

I WAS PART OF TAC’S FIRST GUIDED TOUR AND I CAN’T WAIT TO GO AGAIN NEXT YEAR!

We had a wonderful time. Travis and his team are fun, knowledgeable, helpful, and I learned a ton about overland camping and driving on dirt roads! I highly recommend Titus Adventure Company as a great way to get out and explore!”

Guided Trips FAQs

  • So glad you asked! We designed the trip to be more than just driving around, particularly once we get to camp. Below are a list of potential options that we will offer:

    • Hiking: Each day will have a mid-day hike option. They will not be strenuous or super long. They will also be out and back so you can turn around early if you want. There is also plenty of wandering around once we get to camp.

    • Water coloring

    • Photography: Catch some incredible scenery at the golden hours around camp or mid-day on hikes.

    • Birding and wildflower hunting: We will have field guides for local flora and fauna, see how many you can find and identify!

    • Camp cooking: With no obligation to help, learn some tricks for backcountry cooking.

    • Relax! Take a siesta in a hammock or in your elevated “cabin”.

    • Star gazing: Enjoy dark skies not seen not seen in most parts of the country.

    • We realize this is also supposed to be a relaxing camping trip for you. At the same time, the trip is geared to maximize the amount you see out there! That does mean we will be driving several hours each day, stopping for hikes and lunch and then back on the road.

    • We will start the day at a reasonable hour (driving by 9:30am) which should allows for time to enjoy the morning and then arrive at camp no later than 4:30pm.

    • Yes! The highest pass will be over 12,000ft and we will be camping between 9,000ft- 11,000ft. If you are coming from lower elevations and have any concern about the altitude, chat with your doctor about getting a prescription for Diamox, which can really help.

    • Drinking lots of water is very important (which we will remind you of!) and limiting alcohol consumption is also important for mitigating altitude sickness.

    • For the guided trips we take a 50% non-refundable deposit when you book. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before. If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the departure date, you will receive no refund.

    • We need to have 2 guest vehicles booked to make the trip feasible. We reserve the right to cancel a trip if it doesn’t get enough guests. If this happens we will work hard to provide a good alternative. We can try to rebook you to another guided trip or keep the dates and send you on a self-guided trip with a route planned by us. If none of that works we will give you a full refund.

    • We reserve the right to cancel due to weather. The weather is usually not a problem and we have lots of gear to help keep people warm and dry but under severe circumstances we may cancel due to environmental conditions.

  • We highly recommend you buy trip insurance for the reasons mentioned above in the cancelation policy. You can purchase trip insurance through us at 6.5% of the trip cost. Alternatively there are many other trip insurance providers.

    • Yes we do allow that but we will check to see the vehicle meets trip requirements. Before confirming your booking we will ask for more information and photos of your vehicle.

    • You will be asked to carry some group gear in your vehicle so don’t show up with it full of stuff!

    • We love camping with families but for these trips we ask that very young kids stay at home. Kids 8 and older are allowed.

    • We do have some trips for adults only. Minimum age on those is 18.

    • You are welcome to bring your own snacks and soft drinks. We HIGHLY discourage bottled water, and we will provide plenty of fresh rocky mountain drinking water.

    • Personal food for meals needs to be cleared with us beforehand. We will try and accommodate most food allergies in our meal planning so you shouldn’t need to bring your own food.

    • You can bring additional beer and wine if you choose. We will be providing a cocktail each night and then 1-2 beers/glasses of wine each night per person. Excessive drinking however will not be tolerated.

    • We will provide a detailed packing list outlining all that we are bringing and things you should bring

    • People are often excited to bring their camping gear and that is OK but if we space constraints or have safety concerns, we will may ask you to leave some items at our shop.

    • We will all meet at our Denver shop at 8:30am on the day the trip starts.

    • If you are flying in, we STRONGLY recommend flying in the day before. Make a day of it by taking the train from the airport to downtown Denver, staying at a hotel and then taking a Lyft to our shop in the morning.

    • We know going to the bathroom in the woods can be a little nerve-racking for some so we try to make it as comfortable as possible. We use portable flush toilets that are set up inside privacy tents at the edge of camp. You can do it!
