EV Rental FAQs

  • Good question! We are testing around with that now. We feel confident you will get over 300 miles on paved roads.

The range will be less on the 4x4 trails and if there is a lot of gear added or with the rooftop tent.

  • The Rivian will be charged up before your trip to give you maximum range. Plus, you do not need to bring it back with a full charge!

When out on the road, you have several charging options but advanced planning in very important for longer trips to make sure you don't run out of battery. We will review your route prior to departure to help check distances.

There are three levels of charging, and they have dramatically different times to recharge the vehicle. This Rivian webpage is a helpful guide for the types.

You can charge up at supercharges (Level 3) built by Rivian or Tesla, map seen here. The superchargers will be your best bet for topping up on a trip unless you can charge up with a Level 2 overnight.

  • Yes! The Rivian is a pleasure to take off the pavement and explore in silence. The R1S is very capable on the 4x4 trails and equipped with good AT tires.

As with any of our vehicles, you the renter are responsible for bringing the car back in the same condition it left. You should only take it on trails that match your skill level.

You will need to add the full-sized spare option on to the rental (stock comes with a little donut not suitable off-road)

  • This is a very expensive car with very expensive repairs so we want to make sure you have proper coverage. There are two choices. You can purchase a rental insurance policy with our carrier starting at $67/day. Or you can use your own policy IF we receive written proof from your insurance company that they will cover the full cost of the Rivian, which is $98,000.
