WHERE TO Camp
IN THE SPRING

  • Head to desert areas like Grand Junction or Moab

  • Try to keep your elevation to under 7,000 feet

  • Moab has great camping and mild weather starting in March

  • March and April are the biggest snow months in Colorado

  • Spring weather in Colorado is squirrely

  • The higher your elevation, the cooler you will be

  • Late August has fewer crowds when kids go back to school

  • September and October are our favorite months

  • Peak fall colors tends to be late September or early Ocotober

  • Pack warm layers

  • Mid-October desert areas are the best spots to camp

  • Beware that hunting on public land occurs during this time
